CARSON, Calif., September 23, 2025 – DMF Lighting, a leading architectural lighting manufacturer of premium modular LED downlighting systems, today announced an expansion to its premium modular recessed downlighting and cylinder collections designed to address unique architectural and technical challenges faced by the specification and design community.

The architectural enhancements include X Series 2-inch round and square premium metalized trims; an M Series 4-inch wall wash cylinder; and the introduction of a 2400K color temperature as a standard offering across all downlighting and cylinder collections. Solving technical challenges, the innovations include the M Series Super Shallow housing, a X Series Digital Remodel housing tailored for DALI-2 applications, and a M Series Marine Grade IP66-rated trim, engineered to withstand harsh environments.

“We continuously engage with the design community, attentively addressing their needs to specify a single product line that fulfills all project requirements,” said Ken Czech, vice president of new product development, DMF Lighting. “These new premium offerings exemplify DMF’s commitment to superior quality, distinctive modularity and simplicity.”

The X Series 2-inch aperture architectural downlight family now boasts a stunning aesthetic enhancement with high-performing quality trims available in Brass, Copper and Graphite. These trims feature a premium metalized finish achieved through a Molecular Vapor Deposition (MVP) process, which not only provides a quality appearance but also reduces glare. The round and square trims are offered in downlight and adjustable models, as well as in micro flange and flangeless styles for an elevated visual appeal.

The M Series Cylinder collection includes a new wall wash option for the 4-inch diameter family. The wall wash cylinder is equipped with a unique built-in rotational mechanism for easy onsite aiming. The pedant-, wall-, and surface-mount family is offered in 4-, 8- and 12-inch lengths and in standard finishes of White, Black, Bronze, Brushed Aluminum or a custom color.

DMF has introduced a 2400K color temperature as a standard offering across it’s downlighting and cylinder collections. This warm hue is ideal for hospitality setting or those applications requiring a warmer ambiance.

The M Series downlighting family now includes a high-quality marine-grade IP66- and IK10-rated trim, designed for harsh coastal regions to keep moisture, salt and other outdoor elements from entering the fixture. Boasting a high level of durability with no limitations on lumen output, the trim feature no visible screws for a clean, architectural look, ideal for outdoor hospitality applications including coastal area restaurants and hotel exteriors, as well as outdoor residential spaces. The marine-grade trim seamlessly matches other family trims, ensuring a cohesive appearance across projects.

The M Series Marine Grade trim meets the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s (AAMA) 2605 standard for wear and corrosion resistance, one of the highest standards for protective metal coatings, which are most suitable for marine environments. The trim’s marine-grade finish utilizes a super durable epoxy-based power coat finish and additionally achieves an IP66 and IK10 rating with its fully sealed and impact resistant front lens. Designed for tight spaces, the M Series Super Shallow round and square housings feature a unique retractable design to accommodate both DMF’s fixed and adjustable modules (light engines). The housings’ 3-inch height, which is designed for adjustable and DALI-2 modules, can collapse down to 2½ inches for a fixed downlight when full adjustability isn’t required, ideal for projects with extreme depth restrictions.View this installation video to see the collapsable design, https://dmflighting.s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/M_SuperLowProfile_ModuleSwitch_20250527.mp4.

Additionally, the M Series Super Shallow housings feature a vertical height adjustment collar allowing for ½ inch to 1½ inches ceiling thickness and are pre-wired for TRIAC, (1%) 0-10 volt (1%) and DALI-2 (0.1%) dimming. The housing and can be installed in roll, blatt and blown insulation. As with all DMF products, the housings feature below ceiling access for simple serviceability.

DMF has also introduced X Series Digital Remodel housings for its 2-inch aperture product line, specifically designed for compatibility with DALI-2 modules, addressing the rapidly growing lighting control protocol. These remodel housings, available in both round and square apertures, feature a junction box cap that simply snaps onto the module for quick and easy installation.
