FRANKFURT — Targetti used Light + Building 2026 to introduce new luminaires while educating lighting designers about modern color metrics such as TM-30. The Italian architectural lighting manufacturer also demonstrated how improved color evaluation can influence lighting design decisions and product selection. During an interview at EdisonReport’s studio at the Frankfurt exhibition, Marie Paris, CEO of Targetti USA, explained the company’s latest introductions and its continued focus on the global design community.
Targetti exhibited alongside the DuraLamp and 3F Filippi brands at Light + Building 2026. At the booth, Targetti highlighted several new luminaires, including the JEDI NOVA linear projector and recessed floodlight. The fixture features enhanced optics designed to deliver precise lighting control for architectural applications.
Another key product introduction was the Quantum inground series, now offered in a compact four-inch diameter version. The luminaire includes external adjustability and upgraded optical performance, giving designers greater flexibility when illuminating outdoor architectural elements and landscapes.
Importance of Lighting Education
Beyond new products, Targetti placed strong emphasis on lighting education. A major attraction at the booth was a live demonstration of TM-30 color evaluation led by Dr. Tony Esposito. The sessions explained how TM-30 provides a more complete assessment of color rendering compared with the traditional Color Rendering Index (CRI).
Marie noted that most designers still rely on CRI specifications, though adoption of TM-30 is gradually increasing. One challenge is that not all manufacturers currently provide TM-30 data. Targetti and its sister brands include the information, allowing lighting designers to evaluate color quality with greater precision.
The demonstrations drew strong crowds throughout the show. According to Marie, each session attracted more than 30 attendees, with multiple demonstrations held daily during Light + Building.
For Targetti, engaging the design community remains central to the company’s strategy.
“Lighting designers are our clients,” Marie explained. “They’re who we design for and who we develop our products for.”
Light + Building 2026, held in Frankfurt, remains the lighting industry’s largest global trade show, bringing together thousands of lighting professionals and more than 2,000 exhibitors from around the world.
