2025 Casambi Project of the Year

Home House Private Member’s Club, London – Minlec

In a remarkable fusion of heritage and advanced technology, the restoration of Home House Private Member’s Clubwas recognized as the 2025 Casambi Project of the Year.
Led by Jamie Weakner of Minlec, working alongside lighting designer Victoria Jerram, chandelier specialists Madson Black, interior designer Russell Sage, and the Home House engineering team, the project demonstrates how modern wireless control can transform a historic building without disturbing its fabric.

Located in a Grade I listed Georgian townhouse at 20 Portman Square, the project faced significant constraints. Original wiring was more than four decades old, and architectural finishes could not be altered. Rewiring was impossible. Instead, Minlec integrated 38 Casambi nodes to bring chandeliers, wall lights, joinery, and antique table lamps under intelligent wireless control, without opening a single wall.
“The project shows remarkable sensitivity in blending historical preservation with modern technology,” noted one judge. “By retaining existing wiring and minimizing invasive work, the team achieved genuine sustainability.”
Lighting designer Victoria Jerram’s concept focused on elegance, atmosphere, and respect for the building’s past. Seasonal scenes, app control, remote diagnostics, and integrated emergency lighting now allow the club to shift naturally from bright morning dining to relaxed afternoon lounges and dramatic evening settings.
The success of the refurbishment has already led to additional Casambi-controlled upgrades within the club, further extending the blend of performance, subtlety, and heritage harmony.
2025 Casambi Product of the Year

Choir – ADesignStudio
In a beautiful marriage of engineering precision, portability, and contemporary aesthetics, Choir by ADesignStudio was awarded the 2025 Casambi Product of the Year.
Created under the direction of Alex Fitzpatrick, Choir responds to the increasing demand for flexible lighting solutions in hospitality, residential, and commercial spaces. Completely Casambi-integrated, the luminaire offers:
- Smooth, wireless dimming
- Tunable white (1800–3500 K)
- Dual battery configuration for extended operation
- USB-C charging or tray-based multi-unit charging
- Modular, repairable construction for long-term sustainability

“Casambi champions flexibility and innovation,” said Fitzpatrick. “Wireless control is about freedom—freedom to adapt, create, and imagine.”
Choir’s thoughtful engineering has already proven itself in a rooftop restaurant project, where each luminaire was wirelessly integrated into the venue’s DALI system. Judges highlighted the product’s balance of beauty and practicality:
“I selected Choir for its elegant fusion of design and technology. It brings wireless intelligence to portable lighting with clarity and simplicity, while its replaceable components minimize waste and extend product life.”
Another judge noted its impact on the guest experience:
“It’s awkward when a waiter adjusts your table light. With Casambi, that moment disappears. This is the first portable luminaire I’ve seen that integrates control so seamlessly.”
Choir reflects a new generation of lighting—intelligent, sustainable, adaptable, and emotionally resonant.
Celebrating Excellence in Wireless Lighting
The 2025 Casambi Awards continue to highlight the extraordinary achievements of designers, engineers, and manufacturers who push the possibilities of wireless lighting forward.
Both winners demonstrate that when design meets technology, the result is lighting that elevates user experience, protects architectural heritage, and reshapes the way spaces can be illuminated.
