Boston – 22 December 2020 — Available Light is proud to announce the promotion of Nastassia Ortiz, Jr. Assoc. IALD and Dylan Bomgardner, Jr. Assoc. IALD to Associates of the firm.
A graduate of Northwestern University’s MFA Stage Design Program Nastassia joined Available Light from the world of theatrical lighting design where she designed a wide range of performance-based productions around the country.
At Available Light, Nastassia has worked on a number of museum and architectural lighting projects including the award-winning Deep Time exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, the Latino Center at Smithsonian National Museum of American History, a new concourse for the Charlotte Airport, and a new engineering building for Penn State.

After receiving an MFA in Theatrical Lighting Design from Virginia Tech, Dylan joined Available Light in 2018. His considerable skills as a designer, programmer, and systems integrator allowed Dylan to easily slip into the Available Light Special Events and Trade Show division working on projects for clients such as Red Hat, Charles River Labs, AstraZeneca, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Novartis. With the rise of the 2020 pandemic, Dylan easily pivoted to project work in the museum and exhibition and architecture divisions on such projects as the Museum of African America Music, The Peabody Essex Museum, and the Lincoln Memorial Undercroft. Dylan currently serves as the Alternative Application Lighting Commission Rep to USITT.
Dylan Bomgardner remarked, “It’s an honor and a privilege to these take these next steps with Available Light. I look forward to broadening my horizons within the company as well as bringing new and creative ideas to the table, especially with all of the challenges 2020 has brought with it. The motivation and drive of all the members of the company to create thoughtful and meaningful designs is extremely prevalent in all aspects of our operations. It is truly amazing to be a part of this unique team.”
