DENVER (May 20, 2025) – American Lighting, a leading manufacturer of high-quality lighting innovations for residential, commercial and specialty projects, introduces its new color selectable Fire Rated Downlight Series available slim, slim with baffle, and deep baffle configurations in 4” and 6” units for optimal lighting and easy installation in commercial and residential areas.
The new Fire Rated Downlight Series offers the flexibility of switching between 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K at the time of installation to ensure a tailored lighting experience. The color-selectable temperatures offer building managers, builders, and homeowners the opportunity to reduce luminaire types, match existing lamps, and reduce the blue light spectrum often associated with higher color temperatures.
The downlighting fixtures are available in 12 or 15 watts, delivering up to 1100 lumens respectively with a high 90+ CRI to meet the specific demands of commercial and multi-family facilities, as well as single family homes. With its slim low-profile design, the Fire Rated Downlight Series has a 110° beam angle operating on 100-277V, AC, 60Hz with a dimming range capability down to 10% through most CL, ELV and TRIAC dimmers for precise illumination distribution.
With its durable die-cast aluminum housing and polycarbonate lens designed to help resist corrosion and environmental conditions to maintain its appearance, the Fire Rated Downlight Series is Type IC, air-tight and cETLus listed for wet locations. It is Energy Star certified, JA8 Compliant, and listed to UL263, ASTM E119 and CAN ULC S101 by SGS. In addition, the downlight series has been tested and approved for two-hour fire rating with the most floor and ceiling fire-rated assemblies including: UL L505, L511, L536, L538, L541, L556, L577, M500, M510, M521, and M543.
The Fire Rated Downlight Series is designed for easy installation with an innovative click-action mechanism that allows for quick and easy installation and maintenance. Each light module includes a trim less mud-ring and a standard trim ring accessory to provide flexibility for any installation needed. The downlights will perform in temperatures ranging from -20°C (-4°F) to 40°C (104°F) with a performance-rated life of 50,000 hours backed by a limited five-year warranty.
