Small In One™- Mini

Introducing Small In One™ – Mini from USAI Lighting — a compact recessed fixture engineered to eliminate the compromises that often come with install-from-below applications. Designed to preserve ceiling aesthetics, maintain flexibility, and deliver true specification-grade performance, this all-in-one platform combines downlight, adjustable, and wall wash capabilities in a remarkably compact form. Small In One – Mini delivers over 2,000 lumens through a 3-inch aperture and a profile under 4 inches tall. In the brand’s own words: “Install-from-Below Perfected.”

“With Small In One – Mini, USAI has delivered a truly specification-grade solution that performs without compromise. It solves real-world installation challenges while offering exceptional beauty, high performance, and extraordinary flexibility—all within an incredibly compact form. For the first time, designers no longer have to choose between size and capability when requiring an install-from-below light fixture.”
— Bonnie Littman Gatof, CEO, USAI Lighting

At the heart of the Small In One – Mini design is a patented two-part heat sink engineered to deliver exceptional performance and thermal efficiency in a compact, install-from-below form.

“Small In One – Mini represents a breakthrough in optical and thermal engineering. Our patented two-part heat sink architecture allows us to deliver over 2,000 lumens and up to 40 degrees of tilt in an install-from-below fixture under four inches tall—without compromising thermal stability or long-term performance. That level of output and aiming precision in this compact form simply hasn’t existed until now.”
— Sean Gaydos, President, USAI Lighting

Designed to work with ceilings up to 2 inches thick and a minimal plenum height as small as 5 1/8 inches, it solves common project challenges while offering beam spreads from extra narrow 10° to wide and a multi-tasking uniform wall wash option for tight accent, soft ambient, and vertical illumination.

Aesthetically, USAI offers specifiers two trim styles—each designed to complement the overall design. The Bevel trim delivers a refined 3-inch presence in round or square applications, with options including trimmed, trimless, and millwork. The Pinhole trim offers a more discreet 2-inch round aperture, with trimmed, flush trimless, and millwork options. Both are designed to support a clean ceiling plane, whether the goal is subtle definition or near invisibility.

To support the desired ambience of a space, Small In One – Mini is available with Classic White®, Dim-to-Warm, and Dim-to-Warm+ LED color options. A considered palette of finish options helps the fixture either blend in or add contrast, depending on the design intent.

Small In One – Mini also scales across project types. In addition to install-from-below applications, it is available with a number of housings for new construction, including an option designed for direct-pour concrete, and it is fully serviceable from below the ceiling plane. A fire-rated system is also available for projects that require it.
