WAC Group Targets the Spec Market with New Architectural Brand

At Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt, WAC Group formally introduced WAC Architectural, a new brand created to serve the commercial architectural specification market.

Keith Eagle, Vice President of Business Development for WAC Group, said the launch reflects the company’s push into a more design- and performance-driven segment of the lighting business.

Rather than simply repositioning existing products, Eagle made clear that WAC Architectural is intended to be a distinct portfolio. The goal is to address the complexity of large commercial architectural projects, where lighting designers, architects, and specifiers often expect a higher degree of precision, performance, and aesthetic refinement.

A Different Product for a Different Customer

Eagle explained that architectural lighting demands more than a standard commercial offering. Product form matters more. Optical performance must be more precise. And the fixtures must meet the needs of larger spaces, greater mounting heights, and more demanding visual environments.

He also pointed to the growing importance of advanced controls and lighting effects. Designers increasingly want tunable white, dim-to-warm, color-changing capability, and scene-setting flexibility. More broadly, the industry is moving toward lighting systems that deliver both performance and experience.

Vertical Integration as a Competitive Advantage

Another major theme in the discussion was WAC Group’s internal capabilities. Eagle said the company’s vertically integrated structure gives it meaningful control over design, tooling, manufacturing, and fulfillment. With global R&D resources, manufacturing in Thailand, and distribution infrastructure across North America, WAC believes it can bring products to market quickly and support customers more effectively.

Eagle also touched on WAC Architectural’s go-to-market plans, including a rep-based strategy in the U.S. and upcoming visibility at LEDucation, AIA, IALD Enlighten Americas, and the Dallas Market Center.
