Building off of a previous article Hotel Designs had published where they had a virtual roundtable discussing the ethical issues in product manufacturing, Hotel Designs editor Hamish Kilburn wrote a personal piece detailing his reaction to the reality facing the industry. One of the main points of the article was how sustainability and ethics aren’t necessarily the same thing, and that a company can tick off the sustainability checklist while still sourcing products manufactured under terrible human conditions.
