Duties:
Lighting design and operation for ORU concerts and events. Works in conjunction with clients to provide lighting design to enhance the event.
Works with fellow AVL engineers in meeting sound, video and lighting requirements for assigned University, Mabee Center, GLC and outside client events and that are held on campus.
Works in conjunction with fellow audio & visual engineers by providing primary oversight of audio, visual and lighting (AVL) equipment during functions as instructed. Insures successful performance of equipment.
Events include but not limited to: Concerts, Chapel Services, Campus Worship, meetings, classes, lectures, special events, sporting events, etc.
Provides setup and operation of equipment for scheduled events.
Assists in the installation of new AVL systems in various facilities on campus including event spaces and lecture halls.
Schedules and oversees student workers and equipment to fulfill EMS and AV Requisitions for events and classes or lectures.
Processes EMS Requisitions containing Audio & Visual Services information and updates event calendar.
Repair and maintenance of department equipment, cables, etc. Primary person for lighting equipment inventory and/or repairs and maintenance.
Calculates charges for ORU events with technical requirement and submitting to the Director of Audio & Visual Services
Prepares proposals for replacement, repair, and preventive maintenance of audio, visual and lighting support equipment. Contacts proposed vendors, prepares price estimates, Purchase Requisitions, etc.

Education:
Requires High School diploma or GED and two years of related coursework.

The primary focus for a Visual Production Designer is to help win new business by running photometric calculations. The Lighting/Visual Effects Designer is responsible for leading in design, as well as the installation and operation of the lighting and visual effects used in production for the Church in the Son campus. Job Title: Lighting Scheme Designer
Reports to: Managing Director
Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 (negotiable on experience)
Working hours: 37.5 hrs per week Monday to Friday
Annual Leave: 25 days + stats
Contract Type: Permanent
Driving Licence: Essential

About The Client:
Specialising in the Design and Manufacture of Luminaries, my client has an extensive UK based portfolio that includes a wide range of projects from retail, healthcare, urban, warehousing, hospitality, F&B, residential, exterior, bespoke and decorative. Services include the manufacturing of standard or bespoke equipment, lighting and product design as well as refurbishing existing equipment.

About The Role:
This is not a desk-bound role. You will be working on projects across the UK, and it will involve occasional travel to client premises to assess design considerations.

Duties And Responsibilities:
Deliver effective and professional services to clients throughout the UK.
Work alongside experts in the industrial and commercial sector on projects.
Designing lighting schemes for a range of projects.
Provide lighting calculations.
Prepare specification, drawing and 3D renderings.
Attend design meetings.
Provide guidance and support to Sales and Projects.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Lighting layouts
Lighting intensity calculations
Energy code compliance calculations
Presentation material creation for meetings
Fixture schedules and specifications
Lighting controls intent and documentation
Development of basic project cost opinions
Develop and review mock-ups

Qualifications:
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Client-facing presentation and communication.
Collaboration with multidisciplinary design team.
Can-do approach to project work and assignments.
Competent knowledge of and proficiency in Revit.
Familiarity with BIM applications such as SketchUp, Enscape, Navisworks, Lumion, Rhino is preferred.
Understanding of applicable building and energy codes and ability to apply them for typical project types.
Able to apply best practices of appropriate content for lighting drawings (plans, elevations, sections, and details) and specifications.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to research and present design options.
Strong prioritization and time-management skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator preferred.
Competent knowledge of and proficiency with AGI32and IES files.
Ability to learn and deftly navigate customized database and software applications.

Preferred Auxiliary Qualifications:
Prior experience in the field of lighting design
IALD or IES membership
LEED or WELL accredited professional
Certified Lighting Designer (LC)

Job Requirements:
Analyze current lighting layout plans and determine how to optimize the layout for DMF solutions
Create lighting design recommendation for projects with no lighting plan
Oversee a team of lighting layout specialist and manage workflow to meet growing demand for DMF lighting services
Develop and deliver outstanding customer training presentations in person and on-line
Prepare presentations and lighting resource documents for stakeholders, highlighting design intent and product features
Collaborate with our marketing team to create impactful messaging and materials
Consult on DMF lighting projects with design and construction team
Support and train junior lighting designers on layouts

Skills
:
Experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and DIALux
Understands IES lighting requirements
Knowledgeable with lighting features including photometry, CCT, CRI, footcandles and lumens
Able to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Good communication skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with our customers and other departments within the company via phone, email and in person
Great attention to detail
Time management to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly
Positive attitude
Experience and Education
4-year architecture, design or engineering degree from an accredited university
Minimum of 4+ years of lighting design experience
Experience with lighting design in both the commercial and residential lighting industry preferred
Understanding of Lighting Design process
