Dr. Levent Sahin, Senior Research Scientist and lighting designer, discusses the findings of his groundbreaking research with and Dr. Mariana Figuiero into the impact of Adaptive Circadian Lighting Schemes on the performance and sleep quality of shift workers in 24-7 critical environments. The use of additional lighting fixtures, color temperature and specific wavelengths directed at the subject’s eyes following defined Circadian effective and ineffective schedules were ultimately determined to promote alertness and improve sleep quality. This discovery allows us to transform workplace lighting schemes to reduce errors and accidents and improve shift workers’ quality of life. Watch the video below to learn more.
