The 2024 IESNYC Student Lighting Competition will take place on March 19th at the Trianon Ballroom in the New York Hilton Midtown. It will feature the creative interpretations of over 80 light art installations by NYC students in fields such as lighting design, industrial design, architecture, and interior design. The theme, “Proximal Light,” will challenge participants to explore how light serves as a medium for expressing closeness. In an era where both physical and virtual interactions shape our lives, the competition will question how light can bridge distances and foster intimate environments for interaction. The event will include an exhibition and awards ceremony from 4:30 to 8:00 PM, with prize announcements at 5:30 PM.
