For Milan Design Week, the Diesel Living with Lodes line has been expanded to introduce two new additions: Megaphone and Cross.
Megaphone is a table lamp that blends timeless elegance with modern minimalism, reimagining the iconic megaphone shape of the 1950s into a functional and visually captivating design piece.
The conical silhouette widens upwards, as if poised to emit sounds, but instead, beams of soft, enveloping light. The gradient colouring of the glass adds a sense of mystery and sophistication, while the design’s bold shapes and clean lines epitomise modernity.
Megaphone comprises a black steel base and a blown glass lampshade in metallic finishes, Chrome or Glossy Black. The use of blown glass for the diffuser embodies the craftsmanship and material expertise behind the collection. The base houses the socket for an E27 filament bulb, and the black power cord features an adjustable dimmer switch. The lamp is available in a single size measuring 47 cm in diameter.
This lamp is perfect for home use, whether placed next to a sofa in a living room or on a sideboard, adding a touch of elegance to the space. However, its versatility extends to use in hospitality spaces.
The Cross pendant lamp is a simple and elegant, yet functional design. It comprises a conical fabric diffuser, with a distinctive ‘X’ detail at the top. This black metal detail creates a highly recognisable visual element but also serves as a structural support, adding stability to the lamp.
The Cross design celebrates pure, triangular shapes and the beauty of functionality. This lamp is designed to seamlessly blend with its surroundings, offering soft lighting. Cross has a subtle yet striking presence and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Available in a single size with a 67cm diameter, the lamp features an ivory-coloured fabric shade, distinguished by two seams aligned with the cross positioned above it. The light source contains the connection for an E27 bulb that emits light downwards. The power cord is black, with an adjustable dimmer switch.
The versatility of Cross makes it an ideal lamp in both residential and hospitality or public spaces. The pendant can be placed over a table and can stand alone thanks to its minimalist design. Alternatively, multiple Cross pendants can be hung together, for use in a restaurant for example.
Both Megaphone and Cross will be showcased within Diesel Living’s Fuorisalone space in Brera from 15 to 30 April 2024.
