On Earth Day, April 22, a GreenLight Alliance collaboration with Women in Lighting is calling for participation. Refurbishment projects in the construction industry often result in the premature disposal of existing lighting. The GreenLight Alliance and Women in Lighting are partnering to compile a list of businesses engaged in upcycling lighting products. Individuals with information on such schemes or businesses are encouraged to complete a short form. This effort aims to prevent the wastage of luminaires with remaining life and ensure proper recycling of expired lights as electronic waste. Contributions are sought to establish a global network of electronic waste collection schemes. Together, participants can reduce waste and preserve value.
