Highlights from the 2024 IESNYC Lumen Awards Gala

The 2024 IESNYC Lumen Awards took place last night at Chelsea Pier 60 in NYC.

Established in 1968, the annual awards dinner is widely regarded as the premier lighting industry event of the year for the New York lighting design community.

An enthusiastic crowd of 900 guests enjoyed an evening of cocktails and networking during which the winning projects and design teams were recognized.


2024 IESNYC Lumen Awards

All winning projects are profiled in the June edition of designing lighting (dl) which arrives in inboxes today.

Mike Barr of Lutron was recognized with the Special Meritorious Award.

 Special Recognition Awards were given to:

Cathy Bontempo of Harbor Light Design and

Brigid Hardiman of Available Light.

Megan Carroll of Lighting Services Inc. was recognized with the 2024 IESNYC Brilliance Award.

The In Memoriam segment remembered long time IESNYC members Caroline Rinker and Michael Carbonariwith a tribute to their careers and many contributions and, a moment of silence.

Roberto Cotes of Casambi hosted his company’s sponsor table filled with happy lighting designers.


As did other manufacturers, QTL, formally Q-Tran, generously hosted two tables. QTL team members Kate Sterling, marketing director, and president Gean Tremaine served as enthusiastic table captains.
