On Friday, May 15, the design community gathered for Lodes’ NYCxDESIGN Preview. Taking place at Scavolini’s SoHo Gallery, the contemporary Italian lighting brand unveiled its stunning new suspension lamp, Axia, for the first time stateside. Representing a delicate balance between light, form, and technology, Axia—designed by Carolina Martinelli and Vittorio Venezia—reinterprets the archetype of the chandelier through a contemporary lens, where technology becomes the narrative and function is elevated into a subtle, continuous decorative gesture.

Alongside Axia, Lodes’ iconic Random Stick suspension lamp was on full display. The Chia Ying Lee-designed fixture is available in two new sizes (“Medium” or 120 cm and “XL” or 180 cm), and the glass spheres are available in alluring new finishes, including Deep Azure Steel, Golden Sage, Mandarin Orange, and Pale Gold. Also showcased throughout Scavolini’s SoHo Gallery were the brand’s softly curved Oblò suspension lamp designed by Paola Navone, the elegant Jefferson suspension lamp designed by Luca Nichetto, and the architectural A-Tube Nano suspension lamp (designed in-house).
