Available Light Names Matt Zelkowitz CEO

Available Light has announced two leadership appointments, effective January 1, 2027, following founder and CEO Steven Rosen’s announcement that he will retire in December 2026.

Matt Zelkowitz will become Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Rosen, who is retiring after more than 40 years in lighting design. Rosen’s career has spanned theater, museums, architecture, and immersive environments, helping establish Available Light as a recognized name in the lighting design industry.

As previously reported by EdisonReport, Rosen’s retirement marks a significant leadership transition for the firm.

Zelkowitz, who has spent years contributing to Available Light’s success, will continue working directly with clients and projects while assuming broader leadership responsibilities.

Kate Furst will succeed Zelkowitz as Executive Director | Built Environment.

Both Zelkowitz and Furst have played important roles in the firm’s development, building longstanding relationships with clients and colleagues through their work.

They will join Bill Kadra, Executive Director | Trade Shows, and Annette LeCompte, Executive Director | Operations, on the firm’s leadership team.

The appointments mark a new chapter for Available Light as the firm prepares for its next phase of leadership in 2027.
