Lutron recently achieved WELL Platinum Status certification of their New York City Global Experience Center. The certification was awarded by the International Well Building Institute (IWBI).

Event attendees included architects, lighting designers and other lighting industry and construction professionals gathered at Lutron’s Global Experience Center on East 28th Street in Manhattan for an afternoon of celebration, education, tours and networking.

A thoughtful panel discussion, with participants from COOKFOX, IWBI, JLL, and Lutron, detailing the 5+ year road to achieving WELL Platinum status, was a highlight of the event.

The panel offered an overview of the certification process as to why WELL status is important – outlining “the human experience of what it means to be inside a building” and, putting people at the center of a healthy office and working environment.

“When we started this project, we established WELL Platinum as our North Star. It’s rewarding to celebrate that certification with the people from COOKFOX, JLL, and our Lutron team who worked so diligently to help us reach that goal. And it is in lockstep with our vision – for over 60 years, Lutron products have helped prioritize and support the human experience in the built environment. Incorporating WELL Concepts into all our global experience centers is a powerful way for us to demonstrate our commitment to these values.” – Rob Laterza, Sr. Manager—Experience Centers, Lutron

Attendees were later treated to an informative facility tour led by Carson Alsop, Sales Supervisor, NYC Experience Centers for Lutron, who provided numerous product and technology demonstrations. This was followed by the unveiling of the WELL Platinum plaque and a festive champagne toast.
