St. Louis, Missouri – Reed Burkett Lighting Design (RBLD) is proud to announce the addition of Carla R. Bukalski, MBA, PE, LC, LEED AP, as Principal of Strategy & Operations. With an extensive background in electrical engineering, award-winning lighting design, and strategic leadership in the manufacturing sector, Carla is set to bring a fresh perspective and strategic insight to the firm.
A licensed engineer in the State of Illinois, Carla started her career in electrical engineering before transitioning into lighting design, where she led scores of projects such as the award-winning Hyde Park Bank and the 2003 design of Millennium Park’s Cloud Gate (“the Bean”) sculpture and plaza. In recent years, she has taken on increasingly strategic roles within the manufacturing sector, and in 2023, completed her MBA, further enhancing her leadership expertise.
In addition to her professional experience, Carla is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker on lighting and design. She has held leadership positions within IALD’s Lighting Industry Resource Council (LIRC) and is set to begin her second term on the IES Board of Directors, following her previous tenure from 2014 to 2016.
