The IESNYC invites students from New York City Art and Design schools to participate in a city-wide design competition, emphasizing the significance of lighting in shaping the built environment.
For 2024, the theme ‘Proximal Light’ challenges students to create a three-dimensional study exploring light’s role as a medium for expressing closeness. In a world where in-person experiences coexist with online connections, the competition explores how light can bridge distances and foster intimate environments for interaction.
