Principal Responsibilities
Responsible for architectural lighting design for projects of all sizes including architectural/interiors design coordination; luminaire selection, scheduling, and layout; point by point lighting calculations; controls coordination and sequencing; 3D modeling and rendering; and project cost control.
Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff
Creates and presents client project design presentations both in person and via Webex and which may include renderings, sketches, layouts, and in power point or other formats
Provides consultation to design engineers for architectural lighting design areas
Coordinates design and schedule with other disciplines whose services are requested
Verifies the project meets scope and code requirements
Maintains project design notebook and provides documentation for permanent record files
Recognizes potential project problems quickly and seeks advice of the Project Manager
Calculates dimensional requirements, costs, and time schedules budgeted for personnel involved and coordinate work on the project
Observes quality and conditions on job sites and provides direction to the contractor for luminaire aiming and or design optimization
