Job Responsibilities
As an architectural lighting designer, you will support the lighting studio working towards our designs that are inspiring, demanding and highly collaborative. You will be responsible for providing trade-specific system design: layout, calculations (utilizing appropriate software), and coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external). You will conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and to coordinate new work.
Additional Responsibilities Include
● Create designs from concept through construction administration under the direction of the senior designer(s), produce CAD and/or REVIT construction lighting drawings for a variety of projects and project sizes
● Support the design efforts of lighting systems for new installations, system retrofits, system replacement and system upgrades for a wide variety of projects and project types
● Learn drawing organization and company standards
● Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments
● Attend project meetings and coordinate lighting design efforts with clients and other project team members
● Attend continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics

Additional Job Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Architecture, Interior Design, Theater, Lighting Design or Architectural Engineering
● Minimum of 3 to 5 years of lighting design experience is required
● Proficiency in the latest versions of Auto CAD and Revit, is a must
● Basic working knowledge of AGI Calculation software, Photoshop, InDesign, and Sketch Up, is a must
● Passion for lighting design and learning, is a must

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an intermediate lighting designer with experience in the architectural lighting industry. The ideal candidate possesses strong creative and communication skills and the ability to manage projects from schematic design through construction administration.
The candidate will be responsible for managing junior lighting designers, assisting in the production of documentation through the design process, and tracking project budgets. Candidate must have experience overseeing drawing and document production, fixture schedules, cut sheets, deliverable timelines, project budgets, fixture sample, and mockup management.
Candidate must be able to coordinate the production of and the revisions to deliverables including, but not limited to, renderings, precedent image compilation, presentations, drawings, Revit models, AGI calculations, fixture cuts, schedules, and details. The candidate would also be expected to provide design guidance and to solve technical lighting questions under the supervision of senior lighting designers, Studio Leaders or the Creative Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required in Interior Design, Architecture, or Lighting Design
• Minimum 3-4+ years of experience in Architectural Lighting Design or equivalent
• AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Revu Bluebeam, Agi32 or other light modelling software, COMCheck or other energy compliancy software
• Familiarity with ASHRAE/IES 90.1 Standards, IES Standards and Guidelines and LEED Standards relative to Lighting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• On-site experience preferred but not required
• Ability to travel nationally and globally preferred but not required
• Hand drawing skills are a plus
