The Lighting Practice is a team-oriented work place.

A Senior Lighting Designer will work on a variety of projects with a Principal and other Lighting Designers. Their responsibilities include:
- Generate ideas for quick response and implement innovation and creative solutions to achieve design and business goals from Schematic Design through Construction Administration phase.
- Influence and stimulate team members to collaborate in design and decision-making process.
- Delegate effectively to team members, especially routine and repetitive details, with responsibility for follow up and accountability for timely result.
- Coordinate and report project status, labor projection, and monthly billing with Principals.
- Participate in business development, including assisting in composing proposals and add service requests, maintaining relationship with clients and promoting TLP brand through design awards and industry publications.
- Promote initiatives and collaborations to improve team and operational efficiency.
- Travel to client meetings and project site visits.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional experience in architectural lighting design or a related field.
- Multi-task on multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment and stay focused on outcomes despite changing conditions.

The candidate would be responsible for business development, project management, and leading all lighting design aspects of projects. This includes the development of design solutions, coordination with the design team, owner, and junior staff, overseeing luminaire selection, lighting controls, energy code compliance, documentation, details, construction administration, budgeting, and fee management. Your Key Responsibilities

Project Involvement - approximately 75% of time.
- Oversee projects and supporting staff, providing mentoring and oversight of quality control.

- Attend and lead project design meetings as applicable.
- Develop efficient and accurate solutions to design/integration problems.
- Support project requirements including opinions-of-probable-costs estimates, drawing documentation, and systems design.
- Collaborate across the practice to enhance our commitment to an integrated practice model and the value of design excellence.
- Apply basic technical skills and design documentation processes to produce accurate and timely deliverables.
- Effectively delegate work to production support teams as needed.

Design interior and exterior lighting systems for commercial, pharmaceutical, and office buildings using CAD software together with other business software applications such as Excel and Word.2) Evaluate and simulate light levels in interior and exterior spaces to determine if it meets the recommended light levels and other prescribed safety and regulatory standards as appropriate. 3) Assess project’s lighting designs for their overall appearance within the space in terms of color, temperature, color rendering, and depreciation factors for lamps, luminaries, and lighting systems.4) Evaluate lighting fixtures provided by different manufacturers on their optical systems and overall performance.5) Assist superiors to confer with various clients to determine factors affecting interior lighting system and its project planning and initiation, such as budget, design preferences, purpose, function, utilization of texture or equipment, and color coordination.6) Document client’s specifications and lighting fixture schedules for projects. 7) Create and draft lighting design ideas utilizing hand and computer-assisted software.Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Interior Design, or related field of study required.
