The Lighting Practice is a team-oriented work place.

A Senior Lighting Designer will work on a variety of projects with a Principal and other Lighting Designers. Their responsibilities include:
- Generate ideas for quick response and implement innovation and creative solutions to achieve design and business goals from Schematic Design through Construction Administration phase.
- Influence and stimulate team members to collaborate in design and decision-making process.
- Delegate effectively to team members, especially routine and repetitive details, with responsibility for follow up and accountability for timely result.
- Coordinate and report project status, labor projection, and monthly billing with Principals.
- Participate in business development, including assisting in composing proposals and add service requests, maintaining relationship with clients and promoting TLP brand through design awards and industry publications.
- Promote initiatives and collaborations to improve team and operational efficiency.
- Travel to client meetings and project site visits.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional experience in architectural lighting design or a related field.
- Multi-task on multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment and stay focused on outcomes despite changing conditions.

Your Key Responsibilities

Project Involvement - approximately 75% of time.
- Oversee projects and supporting staff, providing mentoring and oversight of quality control.
- Collaborate with and support all partners in design and building including Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Sustainability, Contractors, Owners and Developers to build strong and lasting relationships.
- Attend and lead project design meetings as applicable.
- Develop efficient and accurate solutions to design/integration problems.
- Support project requirements including opinions-of-probable-costs estimates, drawing documentation, and systems design.
- Collaborate across the practice to enhance our commitment to an integrated practice model and the value of design excellence.
- Apply basic technical skills and design documentation processes to produce accurate and timely deliverables.
- Effectively delegate work to production support teams as needed.
