Your Key Responsibilities

Developing lighting design solutions and collaborating with the design team.
Producing lighting layouts in Revit.
Photometric calculations utilizing AGI32 or LightStanza software.
Implementing energy code compliant designs and providing code calculations.
Lighting control intent, documentation and specifications.
Report writing.
Developing presentation materials, renderings and graphic packages.
Developing luminaire schedules and pulling product specification sheets.
Develop and review mock-ups.
Collaboration with design team.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Can-do approach to project work and assignments.
Competent knowledge of and proficiency working in Revit.
Familiarity with BIM applications such as SketchUp, Enscape, Navisworks, Lumion, Rhino.
Understanding of applicable building and energy codes and ability to apply them for typical project types.
Able to apply best practices of appropriate content for lighting drawings (plans, elevations, sections and details).
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to research and present design options.
Strong prioritization and time-management skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator Adobe tools.
Competent knowledge of and proficiency with photometric calculation software such as LightStanza, AGI32, photometric toolbox, and IES files.

Collaborating with the architectural lighting design team to develop thoughtful, beautiful lighting design that enhances and/or supports the architecture and programming
Collaborating with architects, designers, and clients to develop a lighting design that best meets the needs and wants of all parties
Delivering high quality design concepts, plans, specifications, control intent and other documentation for projects

Have a degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural or Electrical Engineering
Possess 4+ years of lighting design experience
Have a passion for developing creative lighting design solutions
Have or are interested in obtaining CLD, LC, and/or IALD
Are proficient in a variety of conceptual design presentation methods
Possess knowledge of building electrical, lighting, low voltage and energy codes
Are able to run and evaluate lighting calculations
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Are highly proficient in the use of REVIT, AutoCAD, and AGi32

Ability to work independently while maintaining project deadlines

Anticipated salary range for this position may be $65,000 - $82,000

Required Qualifications:
· 3 years of Experience as an Architectural Lighting Designer with minimum 1 year of project management.
· An accredited professional degree within the design industry. Architecture, Lighting Design, Theater/Entertainment, Interior design – or work equivalent.
· Proficiency in the following programs:
o AutoCAD (2D)
o Revit
o Microsoft Office
o Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
· Excellent attention to detail
· Proven time management skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal direction
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with English proficiency.

How you will do it…

Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to design systems that can support project lighting designs and the project creative intent.
Complete project deliverables including but not limited to lighting plots, equipment schedules, performance specification, system risers, focus charts, patch sheets, show-files, and control config files.
Collaborate with colleagues to clearly articulate all technical, schedule, and budget requirements to execute lighting designs.
Support coordination with AOR, EOR, State and Local Jurisdictions.
Oversee and/or implement installation of lighting systems as well as supporting infrastructure such as electrical, rigging, and data systems.
Support exhibition lighting design and execution with pre-programming and field programming efforts.
Stay up to date on cutting edge technologies, software, and equipment to support innovation in lighting design.

You demonstrate advanced proficiency in industry lighting design software applications and tools.
You demonstrate basic proficiency in architectural/entertainment lighting control software.
