In the role of Lighting Designer 2, we'll count on you to:
Work with project teams on all aspects of the art, science and business of architectural lighting design
Take responsibility for training and providing guidance to maintain CAD/model production standards.
Work under the guidance of more-senior staff, as well as working independently, to support design presentation and construction documentation production for architectural lighting design projects. Take responsibility for lighting calculations, energy and economic calculations, building certification compliance credits, and CAD/model production, construction documentation, and construction administration support.
Develop and build working relationships with colleagues and clients
Support marketing efforts, development of qualification packages, and industry leadership.
Perform other duties as needed

Partner with senior designers and principals to develop creative lighting concepts and designs for a range of projects.
Build detailed lighting plans, layouts, and specifications tailored to project requirements.
Apply valuable insights by staying updated on advancements in lighting technologies, products, and design trends.
Illustrate your passion for your role by harnessing both graphic and spoken media to create interest and excitement in your designs through story telling.
Collaborate with the wider design teams to seamlessly integrate lighting concepts into overall project plans.
Liaise seamlessly with all disciplines interfacing with the design team such as architecture, interior design, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing requirements.
Engage with our clients to refine lighting concepts and develop solutions which exceed their expectations.
Work with the construction and field teams to facilitate the execution of the lighting concepts, thereby ensuring the successful realization of the design.
Be an active participant of construction site walkthroughs and project team meetings.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Design lighting in collaboration with internal design team and external stakeholders to realize multiple projects at a range of scales
Install and focus lighting for all projects, including exhibitions, rotations, and gallery upgrades
Provide cost estimates for equipment and timelines for workload, to be reviewed by Design Manager, LD
Source and procure lamps and lighting equipment needs for individual projects
Consult on lighting in collaboration with conservation for light level requirements, UV protection, and color temperature, and other art-relating lighting concerns
Produce appropriate presentation material, (drawings, renderings, specifications) for relevant exhibitions
Conduct visual research and concept development
Maintain installation documentation in the form of spreadsheets, light plots, focus charts, or other means
Maintain and organize shared workspaces and dedicated storage areas
