Assistant Lighting Designer

Job Summary:
As an Assistant Lighting Designer, you will work closely with Associate & Senior Lighting Designers at every stage of the design process to create fully realized lighting concepts. Assistant Designers are the primary draftspersons for their assigned projects, and are responsible for generating and updating plots and ancillary files. Expected Qualifications:

Professional Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Architectural Engineering
10+ years of related experience required for this position
Proficient with Lighting Analysts AGI32, Elumtools or other lighting design software.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and PDF software such as Adobe or Bluebeam
NCQLP Lighting Certified (LC) and/or IALD Certified Lighting Designer (CLD)
Experience in building lighting/electrical design
Experience with the National Electrical Code and basic low voltage power calculations
Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills to effectively interface and communicate with team members, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
Familiarity with government, client, and industry local codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects
Ability to be self-motivated and to research and troubleshoot problems as they arise
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deliverable deadlines
Complete work in efficient and accurate manner
Ability to train and mentor junior lighting designers/engineers.
Availability to occasionally travel to project locations
Other Preferred Skills Include
Experience with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
Professional engineering (PE) license
Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria

The salary range for this position is $90.000-$120,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
